I have a Shapeoko pro and I have bit setter and bit runner installed. The last few times when starting a cut, the router has hesitated starting. Now it’s not starting at all. I replaced the brushes in my makita router and it still not starting please help me troubleshoot my problem thank you
If you by pass the bit runner will it run?

This is going to sound crazy, BUT, I turned off the machine for about 3 hours. I went back later and turned it on on and the router started. BUT here is where it gets crazy. Part way through the cut a tool change was required. The machine moved to above the bit setter but kept running. I had to manually turn off the router to change bit. Then at the end of the cut, again the router didn’t turn off. Had to manually turn it off,
Recently, my BitRunner v2 failed, turned out it was the cable — I think that might have been one of the things which happened leading up to it simply not working.
If you’re under warranty, let us know at support@carbide3dcom and we’ll fix it, if not, the only repair strategy I can think of is component-level and buying an entire new unit and replacing one piece at a time.
Alternately, upgrade to a VFD?
I had similar problem. I unplugged cable, sprayed it with contact cleaner and worked it in and out a few times. That solved the issue.

I have a new cable which I did plug in, but it didn’t solve my problem. Router still will not shut off automatically. So is buying a new bit runner the only other option?
Check in with the folks at support to see if there’s something else which can be tried — there is a fuse, replace that?
Had issues with my bit runner also, replaced the relay in it.
I thumped it with a screwdriver handle and it worked. Determined it was the relay from that.
