I had some issues with my machine not initializing last week kept getting grbl 9 message!the z axis limit switch was stuck with the light not going off and spindle kept drooping to the waste board when power went off
Support sent me a x/z assembly ,I installed it today and the machine is doing the same thing it will not initialize
,the only thing that changed is the vfd spindle is not drooping anymore
Any body have any thoughts why the red light is stuck on the z Aziz and machine won’t initialize ,the x/z assembly is brand new
From my experience the red light stuck on means the switch is bad. You should also. Be able to see the switch check page on setup in CM and the respective Blue dot will be on in the CM software indications the switch is activated. Did the new assembly come with a new proximity switch with it?

Your machine should have included a spare homing switch — power down and swap the spare in on the Z-axis?
spindle just drops when the machine is well lubricated lol. You managed to get a whole gantry out of that? Good score.

Ok, then this should be a “new” proximity switch then and should not have a problem. You need to go into CM and see which switch is the problem as I mentioned above as well as Will spoke to above about swapping the spare switch that was shipped with the machine.
