Save current z-offset/z-zero for later

I’ve tried searching this forum for this but haven’t found the answer to my question yet.

I just surfaced my waste-board where the surfacing operation is 0.0 offset to my current z-zero. Since I don’t have a BitZero the current z-zero would be my best choice for future jobs where the origin is based on stock bottom.

Is there a way I can extract the current z-zero offset to home and a way I can restore it in the future?

Click on the heading for the origin readout in Carbide Motion to show position in terms of Machine Coordinates — that will allow you to use those numbers to verify position and do the math relative to a given position and either jog to get back to those numbers, or if you wish, use the MDI.

FWIW, I prefer to just use a rapid position point as an origin.

Thanks - I’ll look into that.
