the shapeoko 3 standard does not come with a drag chain, and wire management is a real challenge. i looked at the wire mesh tubes, but they are too stiff to allow the wires to bend and straighten as the machine moves through the x and y axes (at least i could not find any flexible wraps). Anybody have suggestions on how to manage the wiring? thanks
The wiring was short/efficient enough on my launch machine that just some zip ties in strategic places seemed fine.
I did eventually get some spiral wrap from the local hardware store to make things look nicer though.

those things are nifty… zip ties but velcro so you can redo them as needed etc… I use them for my SO3
thanks for the response. yes, I was also looking at the spiral wrap. so you find it it flexible enough to curl up and straighten out as the x/y and z carriages move back and forth? this became an issue yesterday when one of the wires wrapped around a carriage wheel as the machine advanced along the y axis. I’ll give it a try. thanks
Steve,
I used this stuff on mine. This may be the spiral wrap you were referring to but if not this is another option.
That’s much nicer than the very modest spiral wrap I used — something like:
looks great. thanks Anthony
Could use cable mesh as well.
Something like this:

got it. all great ideas. thanks
Josh,
I used what I had on hand from my car stereo days as a kid. I think that the mesh Is probably better if if you can fish the leads thru, especially the router cord plug.
Although, if you took the top side of the router apart you could probably fish the other end of the wire thru fairly easily. The other plugs would not be an issue.
I think that stuff is a little slicker maybe, or “ridgeless”. Mine never gets hung up but just a thought.
Thanks Guys
I ordered the following braided mesh because it comes in 25 ft length and 1.25 in. diameter which will make it easier to fish wires through ($11): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075QF7M3D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
