Well, first off, the Carbide 3D Shapeoko 3 is compatible w/ recent versions of Mac OS X — just grab Carbide Create and Motion.
The problem I’d guess is Vectric’s PhotoVcarve which is only for Windows? Have you considered using Boot Camp or Parallels and installing Windows? Perhaps WINE would work for this?
MeshCAM, which we bundle w/ the Nomad works on Mac OS X, and has some image capabilities (though not exactly the same as PhtotoVcarve)
Many of the opensource options work on Mac OS X — please see: https://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/CAM#Images and esp. https://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/F-Engrave
Sir,
Thank you very much for your help.
Cyril, I run an iMac and use Vcarve Desktop. It runs under VMware Fusion and an old copy of Win XP. It all runs very nicely and well with adequate speed. Vcarve Desktop and PhotoVcarve are from the Vectric stable and one would assume work similarly.
I have photo v carve running on windows 10. i have not used the software a lot but when i tried the trial software it didn’t work because it didn’t have the carbide3d files in the software. They were able to send me the file for testing. VCarve was quick to support me. I would email them and they should be able to get it straightened out.
Sir
Thank you for the information and of your help
