I removed the switch and tried to make it touch and the light did come on (pic). I’ll try to reattach and try again.

Problem solved. So, unrelated to the switch, cables or software. Simple newbie mistake, i had left the ring on the router which made it too high and of course, made it never touch the switch at all …
Thank you so much for all the support, patience and A/B testing. Really feels good to get that kind of support.
Tomorrow, onto engraving.
