So, a coworker of mine has the XXL running the Makita Router. When looking at his machine setup from the front of it, I noticed that his y-gantry will not stay all the forward on the right side when you release it and when you push it all the way to the rear, it won’t go and stay all the way back on the left when you release it. What could be the problem?
The most likely cause is that the bed of the machine is not fully square, measuring corner to corner is a quick way to check this.

Once you’ve got the bed, frame and rails square, if the X beam is still not square across the Y rails then there are some other possible problems but I suggest ruling out the frame assembly first.
