Shapeoko 3 xxl: Y axis not homing evenly?

Hello!
Long time reader, first time poster. I’ve been trying to dial in my 3 xxl and I am a little stumped. When I home the y-axis, the distance between the gantry and either backstop differs by .1" I have taken my time to adjust the belt tension and make sure the gantry is square with shims…

I was also a bit stumped as to how it evens up the y-axis with only one limit switch. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

First, check that the Y-axis belts are evenly tensioned, and that everything is mechanically sound and wiring is in good condition and all connectors secure.

If that is the case, then the way to address this is, assuming that the Y-axis rails are at right angle to the front endplate, before powering up, pull the machine up against the front endplate, then power up while the gantry is constrained to be aligned with the balance of the structure.
