Need help have my CNC on a 66" x 66" table with my controller currently on rear RH corner of table with all cables neatly dressed.
However to put the VFD at the front of table so I have access to spindle enable button I am finding the 6 meter cable supplied with unit is too short. Contacted Carbide Support and they were next to useless there only suggestion was to splice the cable but then the warranty would be void. I asked for a longer cable but was told they did not have a longer version. I then asked for cable, connector details and a wiring diagram so I could make my own, being a electrical engineer I told them this was not beyond my capabilities. They gave me some of the details but told me to reuse the aircraft connector that connects to the spindle. However, this is not possible as the connector has a molded end. Has anyone else out there ran across these issues and how did you get round them or can someone advise where they have their controller and VFD mounted so you have access and can use the standard cables provided.
I am about ready to send the unit back to Carbide buy s Spindle Kit from PWNCNC who I know will provide the longer cables I require.
It seems to me that Carbide have not considered cable lengths for the large 4 x 4 Shapeoko 5 Pro. It is obvious cable lengths were designed around the 2 x 4 unit. I say that because I had a similar issue with the Carbide router and ended up extending the cable on that.
