I did a dry run on a toolpath and everything was fine. After I initialized it I looked at the carbide motion screen and it went black. After starting the program back up I went to initialize the machine and it went about 12" in Y and 2" in x and stopped. I could jog it to about a 24" x 24" and it stops.
I have tried to reboot the controller unplug and plug cables back in but it will not fully initialize and allow me to jog. All the axis work but its like it has set a 24" x 24" limit. what to do?
In cases like this, you can try running the setup wizard again, assuming you’re on one of the newer v6 builds of Carbide Motion.
where do I find setup wizard in carbide motion? is it under settings?
It would be the very first thing you see on the screen of Carbide Motion (at the bottom) when you plug in a machine. Before you initialize.
yes …I have found it and got to the point of moving spindle over to the bit setter and it will not go any further and stops about 8 inches from the front of the machine
When you went through the setup wizard, did you hit the “download” button on one of the first windows to transmit fresh settings to your machine? If you did, then I’d shoot an email to support. They might have some other ideas.
I got it! And I did not hit the download button initially but did on 2nd go around. thanks Winston!
