Shapeoko HDM makes weird noise in x direction

We are running a Shapeoko HDM totally fine until today it makes weird sound when transversing the X-axis. Z and Y axis is fine. Sometimes while transversing the X-axis it stops moving, until the button is released and you press it again and it starts moving again. We were CNC the same thing 6 times, all success until the 7th part. We don’t observe anything abnormal in the machine except a little bit of rush in the bearing. I attached a video for the weird noise reference.

I can’t post a video for some reasons. Any help would be much appreciated!

When it stops moving, is it silent, or humming / buzzing? Does it stop in the same place, or randomly?

With the power on (and spindle off), grab the nose of the spindle and try to push it around. It should feel locked in place. Is there any difference pushing in the X direction vs the Y direction?

Check your wiring, in particular every connector. Look for signs of corrosion, or discoloration (which can indicate overheating from arcing). Make sure each wire is firmly connected / seated.

Or void the wiring harness warranty & replace the connectors with screw terminal contacts or aviation-type connectors. I’ve tried both & prefer the screw-terminal strips - easy to do a conductor tug-test & direct visual inspection. Downside is more care must be taken to get the wiring matched up properly if you ever disconnect/reconnect things.

The X & Z axis motor connectors are the most susceptible to intermittent failure due to vibrations running thru the gantry & being strained from harness movement and/or vac hose or enclosure contact.
