Before I start to relate my experience of putting the machine together I want to Thank Mr. Eugene West of Tech Support, he has the patience of a saint and is very very helpful. So I started to build my machine and the first thing I ran into was parts I had but were nowhere to be found in the assembly manual finally got that resolved. Then the next problem was none of the cablings were marked to match what the manual reflected and entered Eugene West we were able to resolve most of the cabling issues only to find we had a bad controller so a new controller was sent and I installed it only to have an X-limit switch go out so the next limit switch arrived and I installed it and got the machine to home. I went to put the control box cover on and no screws, the screws are on the way to me. The person who has the authority needs to take a good hard look at their quality control as it is in the toilet and that makes a great machine and company look really bad. I still believe that the Shapeoko machine and Carbide are the best out there but they need to address the quality control issues.
Update: I received the new screws for the control cover and tis is a very hard part to install due to the screw holes will not line on both ends if you line one end the other end will not line up to the holes. I realize I am new to this but poor manufacturing is just that and this machine is an example of really poor manufacturing and zero quality control. I very much regret spending over $3,100,00 for this but now I am stuck with this thing, SHAME ON YOU SHAPROKO!
I am a CNC machine tech and I found the PRO XXL to be a well designed machine. Mine works as it should and Carbide 3D has been very good to me. Even shipped me parts at no cost.
We attempted to follow up by phone but were unable to make contact. We have also sent a follow up e-mail after the call.
