Shapeoko Pro XXL Machining Aluminum problem (Solved)

I am super new to this so I don’t know the proper terms for this. I made my first aluminum adaptive clearing toolpath in Fusion360. I followed the speeds and feeds provided by carbide 3d. But randomly during the process, something happens and it stops moving in the x and y properly then it just starts clearing downward in the Z direction.

Here is a video of it happening: Shapeoko Pro XXL problem - YouTube

any idea whats going on?

you should post the gcode file as well.

What alloy are you cutting?

Are you using a coated tool? (which coating)

Is your machine mechanically sound?

Is all the wiring and all the connectors in good condition and secure?

Sorry, I’m an idiot. I’m very new to this.

The problem has been fixed. I installed downcut bit instead of an upcut bit. Changing it fixed the problem.

Thanks for responding!

You may want better wrenches too. I found that my end mill would sometimes wiggle down when machining aluminum using the supplied wrenches. Better quality wrenches and a snug tighten (no gorilla’ing) fixed similar issues for me.
