When I try to initialize the machine, the router goes up all the way and just makes a rumbling noise. What should i do?
Is this a new machine you are just setting up? Or a machine which was working and which has developed this problem?
Were the correct settings sent? Shapeoko Machine Setup
Is all wiring in good condition and all connectors secure?
Linear motion hardware allowing for smooth, even motion on all axes?
Power down and slowly/gently move the machine to the center of motion for each axis.
For the Z-axis, move it all the way to the bottom, then back up to the top, then about halfway down (low enough that you can see/access the Z-axis homing switch).
Power up and connect to the machine and go to Settings | Debug and test each homing switch — does each light up promptly and signal as the correct input axis?

I’ve had this machine a while, this happens a lot and sometimes it just works very rarely. How can I send you a video?
If it happens randomly that’s almost always insufficient lubrication of the linear rails/blocks:

but the folks at support@carbide3d.com will best be able to assist — a video could be uploaded to a network drive such as Google Drive, made public and the link shared to the folks on support.
Check your Z switch. May need adjusting. Also as @WillAdams suggested have you lubricated lately.
You can manually move the Z all the way up. Turn on your machine and connect but do not initialize. In the debug you can see the state of the switch. Adjust it until it is tripped.
