Shapeoko Router Problem

My router is not working. When it is plugged into the Bitrunner it doesn’t come on. When I plug it directly into an outlet the motor comes on but the the router does not spin.

Everything else seems to be working okay.

HELP!

I hate to ask the stupid question, but did you hit the enable button on the bitrunner box (really the thing plugged into the bitrunner box).

And did you go through the CM setup again and tell it you had the bitrunner? You may have to close out of the software and re-initialize for that to take.

If the router is a Makita/C3D the brushes wear out about half way. The wire that connects the connector to the brush is very short. So after about half the brush is worn out it no longer touches the armature. If it is a C3D router it came with a spare set of brushes. No harm to replace them. You can always put the old ones back in if it does not fix your problem. The C3D router is a clone of the Makita palm router so the parts are interchangeable.

I assume the shaft spins freely by hand. Was the router making any out of the ordinary noise before it stopped working? I have one with a failed lower bearing that is hard to spin by hand and was screaming when the router was turned on. (New bearing is on order.)
If none of the above is a problem then as @gdon_2003 says, the brushes may be worn out.

Oops,‘I missed that “does not spin” part in the original post.
