Shapeoko standard keeps disconnecting

Hi

My shapeoko standard keeps disconnecting when the router starts to cut. I have plugged the router and vac in to different sockets but problem is still there. Any help much appreciated.

Hi @Adham,

The first thing to check if this started happening suddenly is to check the carbon brushes on the router. If they are worn out, the router is likely to generate extra electrical noise which can ultimately result in a disconnect.

If this is not it:

A common suggestion is grounding the router using copper wire wrapped aroud the router body and tied at the other end to a know good grounding point.

The other common suggestion is to ground the dust collection too (the use of a antistatic hose with embedded copper wire, and grounding it, is a good practice)
