Silly tip - lesson learned - might be useful

Hi

I figured I’d share a newbie lesson with people.

In the past I have always cut my stock to the a guesstimate size then milled from the front most corner hoping I’d have enough stock around to last.

By doing this I have (on many occasions) positioned the stock in a way where one of the outer edges get missed. As I was half way through a aluminium project I realised I had done this again…

After considering it I realised it would make much more sense to start from the centre and mark this out on the stock to begin with then start that as the stock point. This is easily do-able on fusion 360…

I know this might sound silly to experienced CNC guys here, but it’s a small tip that might save you many hours…
