Simple/cheap front-of-machine vertical workholding

Saw a set of spreader clamps at a local hardware store, but they didn’t quite fit, so instead picked up:

which did fit, and when paired w/ a pair of M5 BHCSs and a pair of Nyloc M5 nuts and and some washers and nuts (M6 would be better, but I couldn’t arrange anything using that sort of hardware which would fit in the Hybrid T-tracks) and a stack of the stops from:

arrived at:

which secures in place quite nicely.

That’s not fancy enough to actually work.

Be careful with that style of HF clamps @WillAdams. I’ve had a few of those loose clamping tension after just a few minutes of use. Remember, they’re cheap for a reason.

I have a bunch of the Irwin squeeze clamps and they just dont have the holding power of an F type clamp with a screw type clamp. I have found that the Irwin squeeze clamps are only for just holding things together and not for any forceful clamping. Hopefully yours work but I would be very suspect of them.

I dont trust these for much.

These have much more clamping force and have the hole to secure like your clamp in the picture.

I haven’t found any of the F-clamps which fit thus.
