I have a Shapeoko 4 XXL. I noticed some slop in the Z plate that runs on the X axis. I thought I was going to take the Z apart to get to the eccentric nuts.
I noticed behind the Z motion rails there was access to a portion of the eccentrics and used a small screwdriver and light hammer. I was able to tighten with light taps, moving the nut clockwise.
This was causing my Z to lose steps when I was machining. I hope I’m able to go with deeper cuts now that this problem is solved.
