Small issue cutting ply

Ive been making some Christmas ornaments out of .25 poplar ply and while they’re coming out really nice, ive been noticing a small issue. Some of the sides are perfectly smooth while others are looking a little rough, almost like fuzzies that just wont sand off.

On the circle ornament, you can see the left hand side is super smooth and the right is a liitle rough. And on the star, the right side is smooth and the left is a bit rough. Is that just an issue with ply, or something i can improve on? Cut as a contour with a 112 using CC defaults

Looks like a grain direction issue; wood is an anisotropic material! Sometimes leaving a small amount (0.02") and then a finishing pass will reduce this.
