So far assembly of my XXL has gone smoothly. One issue I’ve run into is the controller lid, it won’t fit with really cranking on the cables (which I haven’t done). Any thoughts? Not sure if the attached pic helps or not. Thanks!

Ouch.
My suggestion would be to open up the drag chain and re-lay the wiring (untwisting a bit if need be) to allow things to fit.
(I also shifted my drag chain bracket back a bit to make things line up more nicely, but don’t recommend that)
Probably a dumb question, but how does one open the drag chain? I don’t want to force it a break something. Should I remove the chain from the rail? Thanks Will.

I wouldn’t remove the chain.
If it hasn’t changed, the top is hinged on both sides and will pop off if you pry / pull at it — look at the underside — you should be able to see the attachment openings.
