Software won't load selected G code

Hello everyone. I have just joined this community and right off the hop I’m kind of lost. I hope this is the place to share a problem I’m having. I have a Shapoeko XL, just bought a new laptop with Windows and have downloaded Carbide Create version 514 and of course Carbide Motion. Here’s my problem: when I try to run Gcode for a toolpath the software choses another gcode file, even after I have deleted that file. It will not run the file that I’ve loaded. This problem has just developed in the last few days. Any thoughts? Dave.

Stupid question, but have you tried restarting the computer. Sometimes a powercycle will fix a goofy thing that doesn’t make any sense.

Hi Nathan, no , actually I have just put my computer in sleep mode in the last two days. I’ll try shutting it down.

Most likely it is not a Carabide Create or Carbide Motion problem but a glitch in the OS. Microsoft has been making a defective product since inception but it is the only game if you have a PC. I used to work on Macs but I dont care for their way of doing business. Wish this software ran on Linux.

I have to give the 3 fingered salute to windows on a regular basis. When I give the 3 fingered salute I also give them a single finger salute afterwards.

Nope, just have too much experience dealing with Windows being stupid.

Using Windows will always mean a slough of replies inferring you’ve made a bad choice and soapboxing of outdated anecdotes.

But… cutting through that nonsense and addressing your actual issue:

Can you repeat this and let us know what filename CM it says you’ve loaded - it shows you this on the screen. From what you are saying, you use the file selector and choose file XXX.nc and file YYY.nc shows on the screen instead? Or is it that the thing that is cut is the same thing?

Are the files on a shared drive?

Does it happen if you restart CM and load in your new file?
