Some feedback for Carbide on setup/install

Just had some thoughts/notes from the setup/install of my Pro 5 a week ago, wanted to share these. Support was great when i did have a few questions and the forum has been wonderful as well, but there a few things that could have been better in the process.

General:

  1. Add Setup/Manuals link to website, they are absolutely buried, these should be listed in the main navigation menu.

VFD Install

  1. No QR code in packaging, had trouble finding the instructions on website, took some searching
  2. No details anywhere on what an appropriate height for install is, only reference was the height of the previous router, however i started with the VFD
  3. Control to spindle cord is pretty short on the 4x4, i barely could get it mounted under the table

Bitzero

  1. No QR code, had to use google search to find instructions
  2. Link on the product page doesn’t take you a location that has the instructions

Bitsetter

  1. Instructions online do not reference the connector port on the Pro 5, only talks about taking a control board apart to find the connector.

Shapeoko 5

  1. Bed hardware for the 4x4 was in with the main controller/power box, wasn’t in the open me first box, i didn’t find it until i was nearly done with the install and realized i had used the wrong screws and had been trying to figure out why i was short screws.
  2. Rear cable trays are not labeled as stated in the instructions, however the 2 pieces are identical

FWIW:

has as page 39:

Yes, the Pro 5 manual mentions it, but the Bitsetter instructions have nothing on the Pro 5.
