Hey guys, after a long period with no disconnection issues whatsoever, I’ve started to have some issues again recently. And it only seems to happen when I turn my router speed (stock carbide router) up above 18000 RPM. Strangely, it seemed to start happening after I replaced my router brushes for the first time.
I have my router cord well separated from my vacuum hose and the machine wiring, which seems to have been the biggest factor when I was having disconnect issues awhile back. I also upgraded to an anti-static vacuum hose just in case that was contributing to the problem.
So, a couple questions for any of you guys who have solved this issue in the past:

should I consider grounding my actual router? How big of a PIA is that? I’ve seen quite a few threads talking about it in the past, but I’m not sure I’ve seen an actual step by step how-to guide.

would it be a better idea to just get a new/better router? I have the HDZ and have been thinking about upgrading for awhile now.

could it just be an issue with the new brushes I installed? I think I remember that old brushes can cause more static issues, but I’ve never heard the same about new brushes.

last question — the biggest problem with the disconnects is that I typically have to turn my machine off and on and then re-initialize, which causes me to lose my exact x/y zero. For those who have been using the capacitive limit switches instead of the physical switches, do you find that your machine is able to keep it’s zero more accurately after re-initializing? If so, I then I really cannot wait to upgrade to those switches when they are available
