Speed change with grain?

I do mostly woodworking with my Shapeoko 5 Pro and find that I often am manually slowing my speed under predictable circumstances. For example, when cutting out a piece (even when I have set things up to avoid cutting a slot), I slow the cutter when cutting across the grain, and speed it up when cutting with the grain. This may be unnecessary, but I believe it can cut down on chatter and the resulting tooling marks when crosscutting. Since we are almost always aligning the grain with either the X or Y axis, is there a chance that there could be an option to reduce the speed during crosscutting to X% of the base speed? I’m envisioning a checkbox to enable the feature which then enables you to set what the reduction is and a radiobutton to select that the grain runs along the X or Y axis. Maybe this is only an option for contour cuts and not pockets?

Again, not critical, but it would be a nice option to have when cutting hardwoods.
