SpeTools Tool Library

I am working on learnign Fusion 360 CAM for the Shapeoko. Part of that is the tool library.
SpeTools seems to be in the middle. I just started, so am trying bits that will not hurt my pocket too much if they break.

SpeTools has their tool database here:

It is avail for Fusion 360, Carbide3d, and others.

Their feeds and speeds sheets are linked, but here is the direct:

Has anyone used this maker?
A bonus is it is a great launching point for generic bits too.

Yes I use their bits. They dull quickly in my experience. I prefer Cadence Mfg.

I have quite a few spe bits and find they generally work quite well for the price. I use carbide create and typically just use F&S from their tool library and haven’t had any problems. I did break one 1/16 bit but im pretty sure it was because my work holding wasn’t strong enough.

I have one of their V-Bits. The 20 degree (W06008). I haven’t used it a whole lot but so far I’m happy with its performance. I do like that they supply the feeds and speeds to import into the software that you use. Made it very easy to add to Vcarve Pro.

One thing I’ve learned about reliable bits and endmills is those that provide the info about speeds and feeds and other info are general decent tools, those that don’t have a tendance to not work all that well.

Answering your question on the feed and speeds of the SpeTools:

I have alot of their bits and have used it a decent amount. I feel their F&S is a bit aggressive and is likely assuming a bit more rigid machine. That being said, I think the C3D feeds are a bit conservative. So I usually try to aim in the middle of the two. If you have a a higher end shapeoko than it’s probably fine but it really depends on what you’re cutting too.
