That’s an interesting one. That error indicates under-voltage. I’m wondering if your VFD is on the low side of the voltage range considering your line voltage is 100.
Maybe it just barely falls within acceptable range to the VFD and the addition of the in-line switch causes a bit more voltage drop, putting it outside of acceptable range

I’d recommend reaching out to support if you haven’t already. They may have a better idea when it comes to the VFD setup. Maybe there’s a way to change the expected voltage of the VFD via some params :man_shrugging:

It’s good to hear that it’s working without the auto switch at the very least. Means you’re not entirely stuck while you figure this out.

Good luck to you :slightly_smiling_face:

Not sure about the error but for my 65mm spindle I had to use this setup.
The iVac Pro Tool goes on the spindle cable between the VFD and the spindle. The shopvac plugs into the iVac Pro Switch.
When the Pro Tool senses power in the cable it sends a signal to the Pro switch to turn on /off the shopvac

thanks for your reply.
can you show me how/where to connect this?

any pics?

also, can this be any auto switch from any brand(like mine) or it has to be this particular products combo?

iVAC Pro Switch 115Vac, 20A (S11520-A-NA)

thanks!

I’ll take some pics of my setup later today. iVac products are not compatible with non iVac products.

Here is the setup I have:
The shopvac plugs into the iVac Pro Switch and it plugs into 110v power. The iVac Pro Tool is installed on the cable going from the VFD to the Spindle. It also plugs into 110v

When the VFD sends power to the spindle the Pro Tool senses the current and sends a radio signal to the Pro Switch which turns on the shopvac. When the VFD turns off the spindle the Pro Tool senses no current and sends a signal to the Pro Switch turning off the shopvac.
I found in my setup that if I secure the Pro Tool with a tie wrap to the steel leg of my workbench the shopvac will turn on but not turn off so I just left it on the spindle cable without securing it and it works fine.
