When I first started with Carbide Motion it always said to run at #3 18,000 RPM, now it states to set it at #5 24,000 RPM.
WHY?
That’s comes from the speed assigned to the bit in the tool database. Are you using CC? If so, post a small file that shows what you are seeing.

That router speed has been a “bug” in the last couple of CM versions. C3D is aware of the problem.
