Has anyone put two pwn spacers stacked on an SP5 machine?
I had a Sherline rotary table land in my lap.
I bought a few things to use as a 4th axis, indexing only.
The 90 degree mounting plate needs another .75 inches to clear the bottom of the z axis transom.
I already have one set installed. Another set would work.

could also route a nice indexing channel into the spoil board /aluminum as needed to recess it a bit.
but I’d imagine as long as its bolted securely 1/4" of spacer probably isn’t the end of the world

I couldn’t believe it. Oh yeah, I’ll take that.
Of course Sherline goes out of business three weeks later. I picked up all the spare parts I couldn’t have made.

I have no experience with a rotary axis.
If you can rotate it 90 defeees would remove some of the aluminum slates and mount it straight to the subframe of the machine e

I had a 1/2" thk track made to mount the Sherline components on top of the slats.
It might squeak by if I remove the track and the slats.
I use Fusion, so I am currently learning to embed a “fixture” model for collision avoidance during tool path generation. It should work … I think.
I have a message into PWNcnc to see if they consider them stackable.
That would be the cleanest solution. Unless @robgrz jumps in a says it’s not a smart idea.

If it was a single block instead of two piece any better ?

Isn’t there a flange on them for alignment? If so that would cause issues stacking.

Yes, and that is why I have asked Pwncnc,
I get it, there is an extent where the mechanics get funny.
Determining that is outside my pay grade.

I think I can get by with a Fusion fixture enclosing the available space.
I can reach over the center line by 2.5" max based on the offset of the spindle to the transom.
A spacer just makes it limitless.

My apologies to @robgrz .
This conversation should not have been public.
My bad.

No problem here! Don’t read anything into my terseness- that was an attempt at humor.
