Given the desire to make a rounded design, we draw up something like to:

The things which make this work, as an examination of the 3D modeling settings will show are:
- assigning a Base Height
- scaling the Rounding
- assigning the Modeling type to “Equal”

Obviously it will be necessary to Boolean union, or use Trim Vectors to join the joined text so as to remove the overlap, for that see:
