Starting a new job

New to CNC: I created a simple project in carbide create using just one tool path. Saved as SVG file. Opened carbide motion and and connected to cutter. Under Job Info asked me to load file. When I clicked on Load file I got a msg saying “Only C2D files from Carbide Create are supported”. What am I doing wrong

Carbide Motion will only use Gcode, or C2D files. You need to save your toolpaths in Create as a C2D file.

While SVG files can have toolpath information (the PartKAM/MakerCAM Flash file did this), Carbide Motion can’t extract it.

Instead, use a current version of Carbide Create, then create toolpaths in it and save as a .c2d file, then load the .c2d file in Carbide Motion to extract the toolpaths — see:

I am using carbide create V7, saving as a C2D file but it will not allow me to accessing it in carbide motion, keep getting a msg “ only carbide C2D file’s supported “

Please post the .c2d file which causes this difficulty — note the file must be File | Saved, or Exported as toolpaths, not File | Export as v6 file.

Did you create a tool path out of the SVG or just save the SVG. AS @WillAdams said an SVG by itself will not work. Select the SVG and create a tool path and then save the file and that will work.

I have saved in C2D files but in carbide motion I am unable to connect

For not connecting please let us know about this difficulty at support@carbide3d.com

You need to save your file as a .c2d file in order for Carbide Motion to recognize it. This can be done in Carbide Create.
