Static buildup?

Has anyone ever had an issue with static buildup/discharge?

Cutting plastic ? All the time

Things which I found helped with this:

  • sourcing a conductive/static dissipative hose — the one I am using is from Fulton and I can’t tell from their site if it’s still available, but I also purchased:
  • wrapping a bit of metal foil tape around my Sweepy/adapter so as to conduct static to the hose

The dust collector hose looks like it is one for a shop vac. That type of hose does not have any grounding elements in it. My portable shop vac hose is the hard plastic type and it builds static and has particles sticking to it too.

you could try a ground system to get the suction lines grounded and wrapped.

this link is one vendor and there are many listings look for Woodstock W1053

Has anyone suffered electronics damage from static buildup or discharge?

Broken Bits, ruined job, spoil board and T track damage. No electronic damage here.

If you search the forum for posts on static and/or grounding you will find a library.
