Stealthsonic on sale

Setup looks great! I like the cart idea…My cyclone is on my CNC bench with the vac on the floor beside it. I was thinking about putting it under the bench but then I’d lose material storage space…

I’m with you on getting one earlier but I’ve never found one at such a good price. The Db level is so low now that I can actually talk to people without my ear defenders on… that’s if I want to talk to them

The noisiest part of my setup now is the standard sweepy. When I take the vac hose off the noise level drops considerably. I’m no engineer but I wonder if the sweepy was made with a curved body instead of the 90° corner if the noise level would be lower???

FYI, the deep sweepy has a curved body and is silent! Worth every penny.

Airflow noise will be caused by turbulence, so your observation makes sense. I wonder if something as simple as puttying the upper interior perimeter at the spindle end and the lower interior perimeter at the hose end, to fillet the hard corners, might reduce the noise on the standard Sweepy by smoothing the airflow a little on those 90° turns…

I’m running the C3D router on my S4 so the deep sweepy isn’t and option :disappointed:

Sounds like it’s time for a spindle too :grimacing:. That will also reduce your decibel level.

That made me laugh right out loud!

I looked at upgrading to a splindle but its a pricey upgrade… Not sure I can justify the cost on my S4 standard. My current machine is my foray into the cnc world. Had I known I’d enjoy it so much I would have gone bigger right off the hop. That said, I’m pretty sure I’ll be buying a bigger machine someday and it will definately have a spindle. Although that would mean I would need to build a real workshop and move out of the garage… hmmmmmmm

I literally slapped that together when I found a full set of wheels in my wood shop while moving “stuff” around to make room for insulating the building. It’s all scrap wood, trusty pocket hole screws and 20 minutes later it’s done. It’s purpose was to stay in the garage for cleanup, we live in a somewhat sandy location (Central FL, Orange groves etc) and between foot and vehicle traffic it seems a semi desert appears in a fairly short time… This was “re-allocated” to the 5 Pro when it arrived as its main function but still easily cleans up the garage when needed, except now in a much more pleasant sound environment. I still use hearing protection but it’s much more palatable for sure. The CFO has approved funds and wanted to see shipping schedule for the smaller model for inside the house after hearing this one running…. Imagine that!

I have not used the vac yet, just let it pose for photos and a noise demo for the wife. I only have the 5 Pro for tooling that needs a vac in the garage as of now and the original intent of the cart was to move it around easy foot vacuuming up the floor with just the normal dust/sand that gets in. I have an Oneida dust collection system for the shop that needs to be reassembled after I finish installing insulation.

Nothing like “slapping wheels” on something. I had this shipping box I was going to chuck. Then I said, “I’ll slap some wheels on it and make it a rolling scrap wood holdter!” Absolutely LOVE it!

Agree, if I can put it on wheels I do.

I used the deep Sweepy on my C3D router before upgrading to the spindle.
