STL option Create Outline Vectors

V8 Build 810.
Just noticed when I right click a component in the Model tab there is an option to Create Outline Vectors.
When selected, it wants a “height threshold” input.
What does this do and how does it work?

When I tried it, I didn’t notice any changes in the design.

When I clicked the question mark I got ghost busters logo.

What I hoped it would do is outline the lake in the attached model so I could cut a pocket for epoxy. Any solution for that?

Yes, it should be usable for that — if one knows the height of the lake:

Just adjust the dimension until you get what you want, then go into Node Edit mode:

and cut the geometry:

repeating

Done

and then deleting what is not wanted:

and joining together what you want to close.
