I also have a laser that uses lightburn. One feature I have fallen in love with when setting up my workpieces is the “frame” function. I was wondering if CC could also have something similar so when people are setting up their workpiece, instead of only have measurements to check spacing, you could run the tool around without any Z coordinates to make sure it is indeed, in the spot you had wanted it in. as of right now I have to put a perimeter around what I want, use a 1/16th bit or something and save gcode for that to go “test” the placement.

I like that function as well. Lightburn implements that one. You press Frame, and it moves around the rectangle that bounds THE CUTS of all of the objects. The Frame does NOT include items that won’t be cut. This is important, because you’re trying to make sure you’re going to be cutting in the right place on your piece.
So, for example, if you had these objects:
and the toolpaths were cutting all of them, the Frame rectangle would be:
However, if the toolpaths only were created for the Square and Circle, the Frame would be:
