Suggestion for Picture Frame Phrase

I am making a frame for a piece of fabric I got at Hobby Lobby if the Last Supper. The picture will be given to our outgoing woodworking club president at our Christmas party. He is a pastor so I thought it would be a good thank you for his 2 years of service.

What would the creatives suggest for engraving on the top/bottom of the frame. I thought about “God So Loved the World”. I am open to suggestion. The frame is 49" long X 27" and the frame is 4" wide. I thought about making the engraving 2" tall centered on top or bottom. The material is purple heart. This stuff is heavy. I half lapped the corners and cut a 1" rabbet 1/4" deep for the picture. The picture is glued to a piece of plywood. I have a long aluminum french cleat to hang it on.

The frame is not glued together yet and I wanted to do the CNC work before gluing up the frame and finishing.

Any suggestions?

Ok. So ChatGPT can come up with some stuff way faster and better than I so I dropped your photo in and asked for 10 suggestions. Here is its response (some good ones). But honestly, “God so loved the world” is a pretty perfect one. And by the way… love the Purple Heart wood!!

1.	“Do This in Remembrance of Me”
2.	“Where Love Is, God Is Present”
3.	“Gathered at His Table”
4.	“Grace Given, Grace Shared”
5.	“Behold the Lamb of God”
6.	“Together in His Presence”
7.	“For He First Loved Us”
8.	“Bread of Life, Cup of Salvation”
9.	“In the Breaking of the Bread”
10.	“His Love Endures Forever”

IMO it is a beautiful frame, and picture, it says it all better than any words.

@gdon_2003

Certainly a personal preference and different for everyone. I like the look of a clean frame, I would absolutely carve something on the back of the frame as a personnel thank you from the club for the work as the President however.

This looks great Guy, good job!

Yes I was going to put a dedication on the back.

Sometimes you do things out of habit. I have a CNC so by habit it needs carving. I will rethink leaving the frame blank. The picture is the focus.

Not Guilty, i Have Been Framed
