SVG file won’t open

Hello everyone. I purchased a couple of.SVG files off of Etsy, but they will not open in carbide. Create for some reason. Anyone else have this experience?

Could be a corrupted file?? Will it convert? (SVG to DXF (Online & Free) — Convertio)
You could try opening it in Inkscape (Free). If it opens just Save As… & try it in CC

A lot of files in ETSY are not good. Sometimes they are corrupt as @Tod1d suggested or may a multi layer. I would download the free Inkscape and see if it opens. It wont cost you anything and you can see if it is the file or CC or just a bad file.

Usually this is because the files were made in Silhouette Studio which stores all geometry and then uses it by reference (clone function in Inkscape).

Opening the files in Inkscape, ungrouping and using Path | Object to Path will eventually get one to a file which will import.

If you have difficulties w/ this, send the file in to support@carbide3d.com and we’ll walk through it with you.
