I’m looking for T-TRACKS that will fit the CRUSH IT clamp size.
Everything I find is too small. I want to make a special spoilboard with t-tracks, but I want to use my existing clamps!
Does anyone know the source for these? There must be an aftermarket track that will work. The CRUSH IT clamps have a 5/8 base.
you would just need suitable hardware to go inside the T-track — usually a 1/4"-20 hex bolt will work, or a square nut — the issue is that such hardware requires very specific bolt lengths — back when I was using that sort of thing I would use nylon 1/4"-20 hex bolts (bought several bags of them in various lengths) — if I didn’t have the exact length necessary I’d just cut one to the length needed.
Their standard T-track is much the same (and less expensive):
Those tracks you posted are not the right ones. The T-tracks on the Shapeoko 5 are 1" wide and 5/8 high, with an inside capacity of 5/8, which makes using regular t-nuts difficult. The tracks you posted will NOT work with the CRUSH IT hardware.
Check on the c3d site. People often scar up their stock t-tracks and they may sell replacements. I did not see them in the shopping portal but email sales@carbide3d.com and ask them if you can buy some replacement t-tracks for your machine. Oops always happen and C3D is good about replacing/selling spare parts.
The Crush-it clamps will work with those T-tracks — I use them on my SO3 thus w/ the Woodriver T-tracks.
The part which is specific to Carbide 3D are the Teez-nutz:
The various Crush-it clamps:
work fine with pretty much any T-track, but the Teez-Nutz are sized so as to fit the Carbide 3D Hybrid T-tracks, and I don’t know of anyone making a compatible T-track system.
I unsuccessfully searched awhile but couldn’t find the Carbide T-track. But it’s fairly easy to find
this deep 1/2" wide track that works well when flush. Got some square M6 nuts off Amazon, had to slightly file some of them for fit in the track.
