My latest creation.
My wife and I sit in our recliners and use a stand for a mini table.
As one might imagine, I have spilled my drink several times.
My plate has no traction on the surface top and has nearly slide off at time.
So, I imagined making a topper to enlarge the surface and hold my mug/glass securely.
This is my solution.
I was going to add sticky dots for traction, similar to what is used in the shower for traction. But so far, it’s not needed.

great work! Did you make the original tabletop too? And what did you make for mama bear?

One off projects like this make a larger machine so much more appealing. HDM might be in the cards for the new year.
I’ll use the TV tray idea to help convince the wife

Thanks! I will be making “Mama Bear” one soon. Got side tracked on other things.

The topper is small enough to make on a 24" wide CNC.

I didn’t make the original tables, my wife purchased them at a thrift store.
But not on a ~8” wide Nomad
I’m fairly confident this will be the year I get a larger machine. Thank you for reminder to put this on my justification list.

One of my “Wife Would Like This” projects was to use a 24" x 24" slab of walnut to make a heart-shaped cutting board.
“Honey, I’d love to make that for you, but my current machine is just too small.”
Downside is that after I made it, she then asked for a 24" x 24" Christmas Tree Cutting board.
