hi everyone
could anyone tell me how to add a table like in the video
it is so the center on fhe leter will not drop out stax fixed
thanks for any help
Maybe im too new and this is incorrect but i just add tabs in the design in CC.
Adjust the height if you want it all the way to the top and to be permanent.
Just use the Tab feature as @Varty5 noted:
In the tool path you set the tab width and depth. Then as @WillAdams said go back to the design screen and highlight the object and click on the places you want tabs. I try to put tabs on straight areas because it makes it easier to remove them. However if the space is confined you may have no choice but to put them on a curved area. When I remove the project from the hold downs I use a 1/2" sharp chisel and a mallet to free the tabs from the main project. I have in the past used a small Japanese saw, bandsaw and an ossoliating sander to remove the reminents.
@WillAdams - Alternately, could you draw rectangles in the appropriate places and use the trim vectors tool to remove the extra bits?
Yes, but that kind of defeats the point of tabs if I understand what you are asking.
I meant something along this line. Draw the rectangle over the letter you’d like to save the center of:
Using Trim Vectors tool, remove the part that not needed:
I know I’m simplifying that compared to the demos you do, but I think that’s the idea.
You mean make geometry which has no islands — like a stencil font — yes, that’s perfectly workable if it’s what your design needs.
