set x,y,z to zero, then after loading file, loaded tool , started job it moved to the x,y position, paused then moved to first cut position without cutter spinning up.
How do I test run the spindle?
Try the Spindle Warmup Quick Action?
One thing that fooled me on the c3d vfd is there are two switches to turn on. There is the main power which is by the power cord. And the enable switch on the front. What fooled me at first was the enable switch active light is powered from the shapeoko controller board, so it will light evenif the power switch to the vfd is off. DAMHIKT

M3s1000 didn’t work, but I am seeing a red light ion my controller box, right next to a green light
Try M3S10000. I think the minimum is set much greater that 1000rpm.
M3S10000 didn’t work either
Check in w/ the folks at support for the spindle.
Did you push the button with the red light ring around it?
yes, everything up to the spindle starting works good, just not starting up
I found something in a past post about ESP-32-S2 and Bootloader and reset buttons about the device manager in windows showing ESP-32-S2. All this is stemming from trying to figure out why my spindle won’t start up. neck deep in a rabbit hole!
Is the red ring of light bright or dim?
not sure but seem dim
I will tell you this. Mine went dim and the spindle quit. It turned out to be the control board in the spindle controller. I have had my spindle for a few years. Is yours new or older?
It’s about 5 months old
I went to cut a project awhile back. I did everything I normally do. I hit the run button and all was fine until i noticed that the spindle did not fire up. Ultimately, I contacted CC and they helped me diagnose the issue as a faulty power/filter board in the VFD control box. The board cost like 79 dollars and was relatively easy to install. If yours is only 5 months old they may warranty it for you. I could be wrong but I think the warranty is a year. They key was the brightness of the ring light. I dont know if that is your issue but mine had the same issues. It would also not respond to M commands.
Thank You for the info, this unit is less 6 mos. old , but I bought it used. I’m glad to hear that I can repair if I can discover the fix. I’ve contacted support, so we are in the discovery process.
I really enjoy the learning process, but it is sloooooow.
sorry, same here, the M commands are not working!
It can be trying at times. With you buying it used dont know about the warranty but support is pretty good. Goodluck!
