Thanks for the help Carbide people!

I didn’t know where to put this so I put it here.
I just recently asked a question about carbide create because I had a problem about a project I was doing. I got all kinds of help and the root of my problem was found quickly.
I’m also a member of another forum for the Gcode reader I use. Completely different reactions if any at all. They especially got testy when I said I might switch to carbide motion. From what I’ve read (dunno if I’m right) Carbide motion seems pretty solid and doesn’t do things like run your bit into the wood when probing. Come flying in from the side of the wood and inch and a half below the start and cutting its own random shape rather then mine and it doesn’t seem to act slow and sluggish.
The moral of the story is: Thanks for the help and very quick replies and participation. After all, this is a forum right and thats what forums are for, right?

I am on several other forums. Some are dead as a door nail and others like this one are helpful and respectful. Plus this forum is moderated and objectionable comments are deleted. So you are correct that this forum is very helpful. I enjoy this forum. This forum is a social media platform but unlike other social media platforms the crazies are kept to a minimum. I appreciate that and have participated in this forum for 4-5 years and it is always helpful.

Keep asking your questions and you will be given help.

You mentioned your gcode sender forum as rather unfriendly and when people are invested in what they perceive as the best they are easily offended when you kick their puppy. So possibly consider the CM option if you are running a Shapeoko because it is tailored to the Shapeoko machines and is not a generic sender that has to support an unlimited variations of machines.
