Tile useing xl shapeoko

i understand what tile is so if your useing the xl then which direction are you going to tile

In most cases, you’d tile along the Y axis.

It the method of machining things longer than your machine. Here I made (engraved) a 60 inch sign on a machine that has 16 inches of travel:
