Bought some 3rd party bits and entering them into Carbide Create tool dbase. However, not all details (like #flutes) can be input but are given as defaults.
Any way to fix this?
Thanks, Pete

About | Carbide Create | Open Data Directory
Go into the tools folder in the Carbide Create folder so revealed and edit the .csv files
The only parameters that get used:
Tool Number, Diameter, Angle (Vee bits & Engravers), Speed, Feed, Plunge, Stepover
Everything else is just info for you.
As @Tod1d said only certain parameters are actually used. Most of your 3rd party tools are going to be similar to the C3D tools. For instance a 2 flute 1/4" down/up cut bit can be told they are the #205 and #251. You can certainly make a custom bit but just using the built in tools works for most bits. There are some 3rd party bits you may want to make a custom tool for certain situations but mostly you just tell CC to use a C3d tool and use your 3rd party bits. Bits like key hole bits need to be customized because they go straight down to the desired depth and then cut forward to the distance you want and set in CC. Many key hole bits are of different diameters. Bit the diameter is not important because it will cut the diameter of the key hole bit regardless of what you set in your custom tool database because of the nature of the key hole tool path. The bit will just plunge to full depth then move forward, retract to the original hole and come up.
Thanks for the feedback.
Is it possible to modify the path to this directory/file?
The reason I ask is because I access CC from 3 different computers in my home network, and I would like to have only one location that I use to store my tool settings.

Thanks, it looks exactly like what I need
