Toolpath sign help please

Hey all,

I am trying to make a sign for a friend and designed it in vcarve but am having issues figuring out how to set up my toolpath so I can leave the area to match the photo I have attached as an example.

Any and all help is appreciated. I have attached a screenshot example of what I want to create, a screenshot of my vcarve design and then the vcarve and svg as well.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it not an option to use an outside perimeter cut?

If you can post a file which will import into Carbide Create we’ll gladly walk through it w/ you.

I posted an SVG of the file in the zip. Would it be best to post just individual components?

I guess I could select each section individually and just profile cut them out I just wasn’t sure if there was a simpler way and ideally I would like to vcarve it so that the edges are at an angle I think but its not 100 percent necessary

Okay, import/open the file:

Offset to the outside by the diameter of the endmill which you wish to cut out plus a bit more than 10%:

For cutting out w/ a V endmill you will want to draw things up in profile and determine the necessary width:

(we’ll use 0.6")

Select everything and do an Advanced V carving to the depth of the stock:
