I have a touch probe that works great for material above 3mm or so. I plan to cut shapes out of 1 or 2mm brass sheet. How would I go about zeroing the z axis for thin material?

Set the probe on the material completely and probe for Z after having probed for X, Y, and Z at a corner.
Why doesn’t your probe work directly on top of the material for you?
