Tracing feature request - smooth it all at once

It would be helpful to have an option to smooth out lines for an entire image after import, rather than having to select and edit nodes individually. This could be very useful for sign making when a company has a limited number of graphics to pull and all have been developed in some wonky font that is all over the place when you zoom into it.

Could save hours for people executing business sign making on the regular.

Best,

Devan

Have you tried adjusting the thresholds when tracing?
The top one adjusts the contrast of the image, and the lower one adjusts the “smoothness” of the lines traced. I find I’m using about 150 often.

On really awful images, I’ll pull them up in Gimp first & and clean the image up.
Smoothing out jagged edges & filling areas where I don’t want double lines.

Great tips. TY. I just started using trace and will certainly apply these tips moving forward. Appreciate it.

If the original image does not have high contrast between the features you want and don’t want, it makes a mess trying to trace.

I have found using a Gaussian blur in areas that I am trying to clean up works pretty well.

I have had to disassemble an image into different layers and handle them independently to get a good trace. A lot of time.

Gimp has a despeckle option that can help getting rid of small floating vectors.
A google search of “gimp speckle removal” will show you some options.
