I have a Shapeoko 4 XXL. I noticed that the tramming is off. I need to tilt the router backwards on the gantry. I viewed a Youtube that mentioned loosing screws on both sides of the gantry and placing a clamp onto it and tilting it backwards and tightening the screws. But when I loosen them, it does not seem to tilt at all.
Any ideas on this? How can I tilt the router backwards?
That process seemed like a lot of trouble to me. What a lot of people including me do is to loosen the bolts on the plate holding the spindle/router and slip shims behind it top or bottom depending on the direction you need to tilt.
A cheap feeler gauge from an auto parts store works well. You can find the right size and then just snap off the piece.
