I’m selling my 5 Pro and someone is coming to pick it up today from out of state. It will be riding in the bed of a truck, to the best of my knowledge.
What should I do to prepare the machine? I plan on removing the VFD spindle and its drag chain. Do I need to remove the entire gantry? Seems like it would help if nothing else for the sheer purpose of reducing the weight to pickup and put into his truck.
I plan on making a “sled” out of a sheet of melamine and 2x4s this morning to slide it off my table and into his truck.
Any other help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Remove the spindle, zip tie or otherwise secure things in place, cover the rails with suitable padding (ideally something which won’t take off all the oil), and put the entire assembly on suitable padding or foam to minimize vibrations.
