I am running a Shapeoko 3 XXL with z+ axis. I have been over a couple issues with support (which got me to the point where I could run the CDS test cut - twice - successfully) I then loaded new material, ran a surfacing file, successfully, then loaded the new file to cut. I double checked xy, was still perfect. I did a new z zero in the middle of my material to adjust for the material cleared in the surfacing run. When I start the job, we get the tool prompt, goes to the bitsetter, etc. all is good. After starting the spindle and resuming, it moves to the SW corner and tries to start the file there. (Toolpath zero is set to lower-left) I stop the file, reboot everything. Start again… x,y, and z are good. It finds bitsetter fine. Why is it losing its way after this?
Someone mentioned to make sure the travel dimensions were correct in CM’s settings. Can anyone tell me what they should be? I click the load defaults, chose my machine type and z axis type, and send configurations. Still does the same thing.
Could you post your .c2d file, step-by-step notes on how you are securing your stock and setting zero relative to it and managing all tool changes and a photo showing an attempt at cutting still in place on the machine with the machine at the zero or a specified offset from that position?
Sorry for the delay. Had made a video of the process and was having an issue getting from my phone to pc. Initially I used bit zero to set xy and z. Then I re-set z zero (paper method) after surfacing to run my file. I re-checked x,y. and z, and they were good. Ran the file (see video)
